We offer two quality brands of real Silk Fly Lines. Terrenzio Zandri from Italy, and J. P.Thebault from France. Both lines are similar, and will last indefinitely with proper care.

Terrenzio Zandri has been making silk lines for 20 years. His lines are all handcrafted with fine detail and precision, The packaging is innovative and unique. Each line comes complete with two handcrafted silk furled leaders and a container of proprietary grease. As with all silk lines, there is a break-in period.

J.P. Thebault Silk Fly Lines are competitively priced and will compliment your new High Sierra split-bamboo fly rod. They will typically last over 20 years if cared for and will cast into the wind better than most modern PVC lines. They are available in Double Taper sizes from DT3 through DT8, in two lengths.

The Thebault lines are translucent, pale gold with a slight mottling indicative of some hand work. The tips of the Thebault, in light line weights, are .024", certainly a lot more delicate than PVC lines which would gauge at .035" or greater.

The Thebault lines do require some breaking in to remove the initial stiffness. Fortunately, the Thebault line comes with several ounces of a proprietary dressing in a tin container (several seasons worth) and we provide a free tin of Red Lable Mucilin to keep the line floating.
